Bu aralar facebook fotolarında zıplayan kızlara kafamı taktım. Neden zıplıyorsunuz amına kodumun gerizekalıları? NEDEN? Memleketim kızlarında daha moda olmadı sanırım, çok görmüyorum.

My dear P—,
You may as well come  now . D— and F— are agreed that I cannot
hold out beyond to-morrow midnight; and I think they have hit the
time very nearly.

Civilized men refuse to adapt himself to his environment. Instead he adapts his environment  to suit him. So he built cities. Roads, vehicles, machinery and he put up power lights to run his labour saving devices. But somehow he didn’t know when to stop. The more he improved his surrounding to make the life easier, the more complicated he made it. So now his children are sentenced to 10 to 15 years of school just to learn how to survive in this complex and hazardous habitat that they were born into.

Charlie Sheen'in yeni dizisi Anger Management'ta oynayan aktris, 40 yaşında seksapelinin zirvesinde. Kakül+koyu göz makyajı ikilisi neredeyse her zaman güzel, fakat kendisinde ekstra güzel.

She'd definitely get it.

Hindsight bias

Hindsight bias, sometimes referred to colloquially as the "I-knew-it-all-along" effect, is the effect whereby people think that past events were predictable, or at least more predictable than they actually were. This is because after an event, the probability of it happening is, naturally, 100%. The bias arises because people ignore the things that didn't happen or the things that didn't cause the event - known as the "availability heuristic". This allows people to point to specific causes of an event (such as a catastrophe) and ask, "Why wasn't something done about it?"

Of Headless Mice...And Men

Last year Dolly the cloned sheep was received with wonder, titters and some vague apprehension. Last week the announcement by a Chicago physicist that he is assembling a team to produce the first human clone occasioned yet another wave of Brave New World anxiety. But the scariest news of all--and largely overlooked--comes from two obscure labs, at the University of Texas and at the University of Bath. During the past four years, one group created headless mice; the other, headless tadpoles.
For sheer Frankenstein wattage, the purposeful creation of these animal monsters has no equal. Take the mice. Researchers found the gene that tells the embryo to produce the head. They deleted it. They did this in a thousand mice embryos, four of which were born. I use the term loosely. Having no way to breathe, the mice died instantly.
...

The headless clone solves the facsimile problem. It is a gateway to the ultimate vanity: immortality. If you create a real clone, you cannot transfer your consciousness into it to truly live on. But if you create a headless clone of just your body, you have created a ready source of replacement parts to keep you--your consciousness--going indefinitely.
Which is why one form of cloning will inevitably lead to the other. Cloning is the technology of narcissism, and nothing satisfies narcissism like immortality. Headlessness will be cloning's crowning achievement.
Did I request thee, Maker, from my Clay
To mould me Man, did I sollicite thee
From darkness to promote me?

On Creativity

"Everything must have a beginning, to speak in Sanchean phrase; and that beginning must be linked to something that went before. The Hindoos give the world an elephant to support it, but they make the elephant stand upon a tortoise. Invention, it must be humbly admitted, does not consist in creating out of the void, but out of chaos; the materials must, in the first place, be afforded: it can give form to dark, shapeless substances, but cannot bring into being the substance itself."

WHY DON'T CANNIBALS EAT CLOWNS?

Tanrı adın işitmedi ömründe;
İnanmadan da madem yaşanıyor diye,
Rüzgarlı bir kıyıda, sevinç içinde,
Yaşamak dururken düşünmek niye?

Can Yücel'in Sakız Ağacı şiirinden

"3 spinsters, 3 fate sisters. Clotho who pulls out the thread.Lachesis, who measures the thread and Atropos, who cuts it: The thread of our life."

 BOAT, beneath a sunny sky
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July--

Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear--

Long has paled that sunny sky;
Echoes fade and memories die;
Autumn frosts have slain July.

Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.

Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Lovingly shall nestle near.

In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die;

Ever drifting down the stream--
Lingering in the golden gleam--
Life, what is it but a dream?

LIFE IS BUT A DREAM
by: Lewis Carroll (1832-1898)

""‘and what is the use of a book,’ thought Alice ‘without pictures or conversation?’...and sometimes she scolded herself so severely as to bring tears into her eyes."

"It was all very well to say ‘Drink me,’ but the wise little Alice was not going to do that in a hurry. ‘No, I’ll look first,’ she said, ‘and see whether it’s marked “poison” or not’; for she had read several nice little histories about children who had got burnt, and eaten up by wild beasts and other unpleasant things, all because they would not remember the simple rules their friends had taught them: such as, that a red-hot poker will burn you if you hold it too long; and that if you cut your finger very deeply with a knife, it usually bleeds; and she had never forgotten that, if you drink much from a bottle marked ‘poison,’ it is almost certain to disagree with you, sooner or later."

"Fairy tales we often think are aimed at children. Perhaps this is because children have not yet learned the cynicism attached to the recognition that all things end. "

"Children literature adopts a child-like viewpoint. Reduced knowledge, you don't worry about international affairs, you often don't worry about money, you often don't worry about sexuality, you have world, limited range of concerns and experience that one would expect in adult literature.
...
But in adults only literature children have a very limited range that they can function within, sort of the ways dogs can."

"So how are the fairy tales with their extreme violence get told?

 Here's the grandmother, who is on her way to her end of life. She's telling the story to the child. That story scares the child. Why would the child like it? For the same reason that a child likes to be thrown into the air and caught, for the same reason that children love to be tickled, for the same reason that people get on to rollercoasters, for the same reason people go to horror movies: We're all going to die. Noone gets out of here alive. It's a scary world. Accidents happen, crazy things happen, bad people happen.

But your parent will catch you, the tickling will stop, the horror movie ends and you can go out for  ice cream at the end and you get off the rollercoaster have a frankfurter and stagger over to the next ride in the park.

These experiences of pretend-fear give us faith that we can in fact function in the dangers of life. That's why the child gets a general compensation from the fairy tale.

But what's in it for the grandmother? The grandmother feels aggression, the grandmother knows that death is closer than it is for the child by far. There is...something attractive about tickling that kid until it screams, about pushing the swing a little bit higher. But it is your own child. And when you see that pretend half-belief terror, you become the hero by catching the child, by stopping the tickling, by giving the happy ending.

So we have two audiences for the fairy tale: We have the child audience motivated by the need to be able to deal with the difficulties in life and we have the adult audience of the fairy tale needing somehow to blunt the aggression that we feel in the face of youth, hopefulness and promise that the young have and we have already spent. They happen to ducktail perfectly."

"But, Lord love ye, miss, I ain’t afraid of dyin’, not a bit, only I don’t want to die if I can help it. My time must be nigh at hand now, for I be aud, and a hundred years is too much for any man to expect. And I’m so nigh it that the Aud Man is already whettin’ his scythe. But don’t ye dooal an’ greet, my deary!”— for he saw that I was crying —“if he should come this very night I’d not refuse to answer his call.  For life be, after all, only a waitin’ for somethin’ else than what we’re doin’, and death be all that we can rightly depend on."

Sex=Youth&Immortality
"The poor fucker didn't have a cunt. I threw his letter into the wastebasket."

"We undressed and climbed in. She was 6 feet tall. I'd always had small women. It was strange - every place I reached seemed to be more woman."

"I was naturally a loner, content just to live with a woman, eat with her, sleep with her. I didn't want conversation, or to go anywhere except the racetrack or boxing matches. I didn't understand t.v. I felt foolish paying money to go into a movie theatre and sit with other people to share their emotions. Parties sickened me. I hated the game-playing, the dirty play, the flirting, the amateur drunks, the bores."

"I disliked weekends. Everybody was out on the streets. Everybody was playing Ping-Pong or mowing their lawn or polishing their car or going to the supermarket or the beach or to the park. Crowds everywhere. Monday was my favorite day. Everybody was back on the job and out of sight."
